The drive out there was pretty crazy for me. Idyllwild is a town on the side of the San Jacinto Moutains and the road to get there actually goes over the mountain and down the other side...... I think we hit about 6,500ft before we get to Idyllwild at 4,500ft. Jay had a blast driving the windy road that was literaly inches from the edge - Kaya (our dog) and I got close to puking!

The first day we got there we walked down to the village to check out all the shops. Kaya was semi cooperative. She's our little ADD (attention defficit disorder) dog. She's pretty hyper and then can't focus on anything cause she's all over the place with anxiety. Being in a new area was sensory overload for her and the walk through the village was pretty interesting. All in all I think she loved it because Idyllwild is pretty dog friendly. A bunch of shops had water bowls and dog biscuits by the door.

The cabin had a hot tub that we enjoyed and it had a large fenced in yard that Kaya enjoyed. We actually had no neighbors and no strange wild animals. I hadn't been that relaxed in a long while - perfect weekend!
Here are a few shots of the hot tub, yard and the outside of the cabin. The inside wasn't anything to write home about but it was really comfortable.

The area was gorgeous, Mom, Dad, I know you'd love to visit there! Maybe next time? With all the tall cedar trees, I felt like I was back home, Canada Home.

I got tons more pictures if you're interested in seeing the winding road and the gorgeous mountains and trees that surround Idyllwild........
